Who would have thought that the former army jeep will become a luxury 4x4 vehicle?

Cherokee and Grand Cherokee (the second is 12 centimeters longer wheelbase) have four-wheel drive and are well prepared for the terrain and conditions.

When engines have different alternatives: 6-cylinder, typical American V8 or destined for European markets turbo diesel engines. On the small Cherokee best fits its 4.0-liter 6-cylinder engine that is mounted at the outset of the proceedings and over the years has repeatedly modified.

It has plenty of power for each life situation and it can safely do their American-style adventures. But this bill goes salt: it consumes no less than 14 L/100 km. 5.2-liter V8 (in the period 1997-1999, 5.9 l) for Grand Cherokee afford even two liters more, but offset this with its maximum torque.

Presented in 1999 4.7-liter engine consumes less, but its maximum torque is not large. Relatively more frugal turbodiesel engine can be described as really good.

The car is easy to manage. Even at high speed and large and small Cherokee moving steadily forward, overcoming turns and bumps in a way that credible. We should not forget the incredible qualities in the role of tugs. The permissible load on the most powerful versions of the Grand Cherokee can reach respectable 3.5 tons!

As for comfort, large Cherokee are typically filled with American luxury equipment. The tempomat conditioner and understood by itself. In models, produced in limited edition, leather seats are further heated or cooled through sensors and mirrors are adjusted automatically to the driver.

ABS-systems and airbags were introduced in Cherokee jeeps gradually. In 1993, the elder brother began to Anti block system and airbag for the driver. Airbag to place it appears in early 1996 with the modernization of the two models. From 2001 to the beginning of production of new small Cherokee and Grand Cherokee received a great side airbags.

The statistics of the problems does not speak in favor of a friendly symbiosis between driver and his Cherokee. From a financial point of view can be recommended 2.7-liter diesel Mercedes. Who bought a 5.2 liter petrol V8, possibly managed station.
